Astec will be doubling its office space next month with a move into a next-door upper floor office at the Venture Point building in Rugeley, Staffordshire.
Andy Tripp, Managing Director comments,
“We have taken the decision to expand our offices to accommodate our growing team and provide more options for meetings and training. The next 6-12 months is expected show the most significant growth for the business to date, so our existing office space will no longer be adequate. It will be fantastic to have a fresh new amenities area as well as the additional development space. The change reflects an exciting new growth phase for Astec.”
Astec was established in 2000 by Andy Tripp, working alongside former Intellution colleague Chris Barlow. From modest beginnings, the thriving business moved into the current site at Venture Point in 2008. The company’s recruitment drive continues to be a business priority, with expansion expected across several departments ranging from Systems Delivery, Sales & Marketing to Project Management and Finance.
Chris Barlow, Technical Director, attributes much of Astec’s success to the attitude and expertise of staff.
“Both Andy and myself had been working with or for Intellution before it was purchased by GE. During this time we gained a detailed knowledge of their systems, and we recruited engineers with a similar specialist skill-set. We have built up our team carefully over the years, selecting dedicated and talented people, and investing heavily in training.”
Their hard work paid off in 2010 when Astec were the first business in the UK to be awarded Premier Solutions Partner status by GE. Astec continues to align closely with GE, who is positioning itself as leader in industrial internet technologies. With this alliance and a target market worth an estimated $20 billion by 2020, the future looks set to be buoyant.
The building work, which includes a replacement of the mezzanine with a new set of stairs and open-plan offices, will commence this week to complete at the end of September.
