Astec were the first Premier Solution Partner (PSP) in the UK for GE Fanuc, latterly GE Intelligent Platforms and GE Digital, which reflects the depth of knowledge and understanding we have of their Proficy suite of applications.
The Astec team includes ex-Intellution and GE technical support staff as well as certified product trainers and other ex-GE software engineers. A director of Astec was a co-founder of Fortétion Ltd, the Intellution channel partner for the UK. Fortétion worked closely with Mountain Systems, the company responsible for bringing Proficy (latterly known as Plant Applications) to market during the 1990s. Intellution and Mountain Systems were purchased by GE in 2003.
While Astec remains vendor agnostic, the company’s unparalleled GE product knowledge results in GE-centric solutions that often exceed customer requirements. The solutions are engineered using product-based configuration to maximise existing product features and functionality. By avoiding unnecessary customisation, the solutions are more supportable in the future.
Having provided engineering services to GE’s Global Professional Services team for most of Astec’s existence, the team have benefited from working in a wide sphere of end user markets and domains.
